Description

The Yaesu FT-710 is a compact shortwave transceiver that incorporates SDR (Software-Defined Radio) technology, similar to the Yaesu FT-DX101 and FT-DX10. It offers 100W of transmit power, which is adjustable from 5 to 100W. The radio features an RF input stage based on the experience of larger Yaesu transceivers like the FT-DX101 and FT-DX10, utilizing SDR technology. It includes band filters for amateur radio bands to filter out unwanted signals from outside the band. The high-resolution 250 MHz synthesizer allows for the simultaneous reception of multiple signals.

The operation is simplified with a large 4.3″ color display, and it supports the connection of a mouse and/or keyboard for easier control. LED indicators next to the VFO knob indicate the current operating status, such as VFO-A, VFO-B, memory, and clarifier/split. A “preset” function is available for quick and optimal parameter settings for FT-8 operation. The built-in antenna tuner can quickly adjust antennas that are not precisely tuned. External monitors (DVI-D) can be connected for better integration into the radio station. The radio also offers USB ports, including one type A and one type B, as well as a network control port. An SD memory card can store settings, memory contents, and record QSOs at the push of a button. Firmware updates can also be conveniently and securely performed via the SD card.
